If there’s no existing bike bus near you, consider setting up your own!
Until now, there’s been little guidance on how to set up and run your own bike bus, but this excellent new guide from Sustrans is a helpful starting point (focused on primary school aged children).
For more help, contact your nearest bike bus and email them directly. Every bike bus operates slightly differently, and we’ve all had to address the problems you’re thinking of. Just ask!
If you can join in an existing bike bus, you’ll learn quickly how to set up a bike bus, how to get people to join, and how to deal with problems in planning or on the ride itself.
If you want to take some training, both Sustrans and British Cycling offer helpful courses.
